My artistic journey began as a simple hobby, which I started to really explore as I entered college. It became a way for me to express myself, connect with others, and navigate the changes within my life. When I started doing art more seriously, I focused in on acrylics, and my practice replicating other artists paintings for practice steadily evolved into finding my own vision, and creating my own pieces.

Some of my own favorite painters created art in the post impressionist style, which I latched on to quickly in my own art. The act of taking a real world subject and morphing it to allow others to see the world through your own eyes resonated with me deeply, particularly in times of personal and societal change when people's visions tend to shift and split. I truly believe that when our experiences in the world divide and fracture us, art is a medium which can call us to understand each other. One of my artistic goals with each painting I create is to evoke emotion in the viewer, and help them understand a way of seeing the world that may or may not reflect their own. At times when words are divisive, art can be unifying and healing.
The medium which I created art with evolved just as my vision did as I learned more and more. Over the years i have dabbled in a vast amount of mediums, with different amounts of success and enjoyment. However just as I have found art unifying emotionally, I have developed a love and skill in unifying mediums. My mixed media projects have been some of my favorite to create, and the most authentically expressive to me. I love the way it allows me to truly express my vision, without limitation of form. This art, and all my art over the years have spoken for me when words were inadequate, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to share it with others.
